Department of English was established as a distinct Entity in 2008 employs Innovative teaching methods and adopts multi lingual approach of Learning. It helps students gain knowledge and skills that are required in the global market. It adheres to the highest standards in teaching learning by employing innovative practices, ensuring excellence in LSRW skills by adopting rigorous internal peer and student review.
The Department of English is as old as the Institution itself. General English is taught as core subject ever since its inception. The department is engaged in a gamut of activities to strengthen its students to improve language skills (LSRW) and enable them to develop critical aptitude.
The department endeavours to help students hone their linguistic skills for a better future besides preparing them for pursuing higher studies in the subject. The department envisions to develop in students the understanding and appreciation of various literatures across the world and facilitate them in daily use of English language.

The college runs nearly 09 graduate courses with English as second language.
Consistent 70-90 % results annually.
1.Weekly one hour is allotted for loud and pleasure reading.
2.Two new words to be added to ones Vocabulary in every English class.
3.Every new word has to be memorized with its spelling.
4.Spell Bee and pronunciation contest are held as Department activities every year.
5.Involving the students in Extension activities to the near by villages as a part of Literary campaign.
